The Cow And The Moon

I went out on New Year's Day to look at the first moon of 2018 which had just risen.  In autumn, the farmer cut down all the Leylandii trees at the back of the house and now there is a clear view south and east to the sea and the rising sun and moon.  On the way there, I found a plastic cow, unearthed by the winter rain I suppose.  It is probably farmer's (now grown) children that left this plastic bovine behind when they lived in this house and now it has made another appearance a dozen years later.  The farmers' real cows are in the winter cow barns, waiting to have their calves.  I commemorated this unlikely meeting with 3 photos layered together and it was only later that a friend reminded me of the nursery rhyme

Hey, diddle, diddle,
The cat and the fiddle
The cow jumped over the moon
The little dog laughed to see such fun
And the dish ran away with the spoon
